Workplace Safety & Health and Security Policy

The Singapore Police Force is committed to providing staff, contractors and police service recipients with a healthy, safe and secure environment. We will eliminate and minimise safety and health risks, and terror threats by ensuring control measures are in place.

This policy applies to the Force's premises, activities of the Force and controlled equipment, except as specified under the Sixth Schedule of the Workplace Safety and Health Act.

The Force strives to fully integrate health, safety and security into all aspects of its activities through a continuous improvement of processes. This will be achieved by:

• Implementing and maintaining a framework that ensures the systematic management of health, safety and security throughout all sites and workplaces and compliance with legal and other requirements.
• Setting measurable objectives and targets aimed at controlling higher risk activities and increasing awareness of health, safety and security.
• We will work with stakeholders and the general public to embrace and promote the SGSecure movement
• Working with all our employees, visitors & contractors in complying and implementing safe management measures for eliminating or reducing infectious disease outbreaks.
• Committed to identifying, evaluating, and controlling risks, in relation to personal health (including mental well-being), and organisational factors.

Our principal goal is to improve health, safety and security management and to eliminate injuries and illnesses and terror threats at our workplaces. This is the responsibility of every officer and safety is integral to the way SPF plans and conducts its organisational activities even as risk tolerance varies across the organisation, especially for specialist operational units.

We promote a proactive health, safety and security management philosophy based on effective communication and consultation, the systematic identification, assessment and control of hazards and the encouragement of innovation.
